MSG offer transport services to the market on inland waterways throughout Europe. In their capacity as a carrier, they predominantly rely on their own fleet of about 70 vessels offering a transport capacity of circa 120,000 tons (corresponds to some 4,500 semi-trailers). If need be, it is also possible to resort to the additional hold of numerous partners.
In this way, an annual transport performance of nearly 3 billion ton kilometers (tkm) is achieved. The long average transport distance of some 80 km underlines the company’s focus towards traffic throughout Europe.
This predominantly involves the transport of bulk goods such as iron ore, sheet steel, fertilizers, and grain. However, plant components, containers, and heavy cargo are also included in the standard program of goods that are transported by the MSG fleet.
When it comes to transports, customers enjoy the special service of being offered all transport services as well as services in connection with their requirements from one single source. On the one hand, this reduces their individual administrative work. On the other hand, they benefit from an increase in both quality and reliability in the complete transport chain thanks to a reduction of interfaces.
All in all, these individual service components of MSG result in a very good price-quality-performance ratio for the customer.
